Downtown I was downtown the other day, Bur Dubai and Deira. And I came to a conclusion which I will stick to in the almost near future. Those areas lack UAE citizens, namely those who have roots in those areas. I mean the majority of my roots are around central Deira, which by the way used to be considered a town. And hopefully, in the future, you might be seeing a lot more Dubai natives living in those areas.

Centro Urba Mi promenadis en Bar-Dobajo kaj Dejro. Kaj mi konkludis konkludon mi farus en la pli malpli proksima futuro. Tiuj ejoj bezonas UAE-anoj, speciale kiuj estas indiĝenaj de tiej ĉi. Mi estas indiĝeno de Dubajo, special-speciale de centra Dejro, kiu estis historie urbeto. Espereble, future, vi eble vidus plej da Dobajanoj loĝantaj tien.

أوساط المدينة كنت من أيام في أوساط منطقتي بردبي وديرة. وتوصّلت لاستناج، وسأوفي لهذا الاستنتاج في المستقبل الشبه-قريب. هذه المناطق إلى حاجة لمواطنين إماراتيين، خاصّةً هؤلاء الذين لهم جذور من تلك المناطق. يعني، معظم جذوري من ما كانت سابقاً تسمّى "بلدة" ديرة. وآمل، في المستقبل، أن ترون المزيد من الدبويين\الدبيّانيين الأصليين عايشين في المناطق هذه.

I don't know how to interpret this, but I suppose it's alright to say that there may be some form of hysteria among families and relevant authorities about this issue. Of course the sex phenomenon is a problem in schools, but not only same-sex sexual activities. This is an issue that is treated with a dose of reality and knowledge, not ignorance, I suggest sex-education for the children and getting them to understand that sexual acts may have some "rules," but do not criminalize them and make them suffer hate because of your ideas and your biases on the issue.

لا أدري كيف أفسّر لكم هذه الأخبار، لكن أتوقّع أنّه يصح القول أن قد يصير هناك نوع من الهيستيريا من قبل الأسر والسلطات حول الموضوع. طبعاً ظاهرة الجنس مشكلة في المدارس، لكن ليس الجنس بين نفس الجنس المشكلة الوحيدة. هذا شيء يعالج بواقعية وعلم وليس الجهل، قدّموا التوعية الجنسية للأطفال وفهّموهم أن لأفعال الجنس شروط، لكن لا تجرّموهم وتجعلوهم يواجهون الكره بسبب أفكاركم وتحيّزاتكم حول الموضوع.

Mi ne konas kiel interpreti tiun ĉi, sed eble mi povas diri ke eble estus ia histero inter familioj kaj aŭtoritatoj pri la afero. Jes ja, la aperaĵo de sekso estas problemo en lernejoj, sed sekso inter samseksuloj ne estas la sola problemo. Estas afero kuracata kun vereco kaj scio ne malscio, donu seksan edukadon por la junuloj kaj komprenigi ilin ke sekso havas "reguloj," sed ne krimigu ilin kaj malamu ilin pro viaj ideoj kaj tendencoj pri la afero.

Updates

Updates Some of you (as I have come to realize) read my blog for some of the articles and issues I may point out from time to time. I know I don't post as often as I used to, but I'm still reading as much as I used to and still go through many interesting articles that I think most of you should read. So guess what, you don't have to wait for me to post an entry about that article, you can see them on the right part of my blog: The News, there's also a special page for them. And you can also get a feed added to whatever you use to read feeds. Apart from that, I finally converted to the new Blogger, which means I have to reorganize my page once again. This does not mean that the Arabic language trouble I've been getting is over. Although, I hope they don't happen as often as they did in the old Blogger.

تجديدات بعضكم (كما لاحظت) يقرأ مدونتي لبعض المقالات والمواضيع التي أثير الإنتباه إليها بين فترة وفترة. أعرف أنّي لا أدوّن كما كنت، لكن مازلت أقرأ كما كنت ومازلت أرا مقالات ومواضيع يستحقون القراءة. فحزروا، ما في داعي تنتظرونّي أدوّن عن الموضوع، بإمكانكم رؤيتهم على يمين الصفحة: الأخبار، وهناك صفحة مخصصة لهم. وبإ وبإمكانكم الإشتراك في خدمة القارئ لأي ما قد يكون قارئكم. غير عن ذلك، أخيراً غيّرت للبلوقر الجديد، وهذا يعني أنّي لازم أعيد تعديل صفحتي مرّة أخرى. وهذا ما يعني أن مشاكل اللغة العربية التي مرّيت بهم إنتهوا. لكن، آمن أن لا يصير كثر ما كان يصير في بلوقر القديم.

He is Innocent

The Dr. Mohammed al-Roken Case I just read this from the IHT. It's depressing. To be honest, I believe there is a vendetta going behind the scenes against Dr. Mohammed al-Roken. I don't think this has anything to do with "sex out of wedlock," I do not think and will not believe that he has committed any such act at all. I stand by Mohammed al-Roken, the lawyer whom I greatly respect. I really do hope his appeal goes well and is acquitted of the charges. I believe he is innocent.

Mi ne pensas ke tiu ĉi estas pri "sekso eksteredzeca," mi ne pensas kaj ne kredos ke li faras tiun. Mi staras kun Mohammed al-ROKEN, la advokaton mi ege respektas. قضية الدكتور محمد الركن توني قرأت هذا في جريدة الهرلد تريبيون الدولية. هذا كأيب. بكل صراحة، أنا أظن أن هناك ثأر وراء الكواليس ضد دكتور محمد الركن. لا أظن أن هذا له أي علاقة بـ"الزنا،" لا أعتقد ولن أصدق أنه فعل شيء كذلك. أقف مع محمد الركن، المحامي الذي أحترمه كثيراً. وآمل أن إستأناف الحكم يسمع ويطاح عنه كل التهم. أنا أعتبره بريء.

One-Man Star Wars

One-Man Star Wars Trilogy I went to the One-Man Star Wars Trilogy! Yesterday's night show. And I really recommend that all of you go, even if you're not particularly big Star Wars fan. (I didn't see episodes 4 to 6, and that's what the show was all about, but I did really enjoy it.) Charles Ross did a good job. Unfortunately there's only two shows left at Madinat Theatre*, and that's today! So go quickly, before it ends. *Those of you who haven't a clue, the final t in Madinat is silent!

Unu-vira Stelaj Militoj Trilogio Mi iris al Unu-vira Stelaj Militoj Trilogio! La hieraŭa en la nokto. Kaj mi petas vin iri, eĉ se vi ne estus freneza pri Stelaj Militoj. (Mi ne vidis la epizodojn 4a al 6a, kaj tiu teatraĵo estis pri tiun epizodojn, sed mi ĝojiĝis.) Ĉarls Ros faras bonan faradon. Bedaŭrinde estas sole 2 tempumoj je Madina-Teatro, kaj estas hodiaŭe! Do iru rapide, antaŭ ol la fino.

ثلاثية حرب النجوم بممثل واحد قد رحت لأرا مسرحية ثلاثيّة حرب النجوم بممثّل واحد! مسرحية ليلة أمس. وأوصيكم أن تروه، حتى لو لم تكونوا من مجانين حرب النجوم. (أنا لم أرا الحلقات الـ4 حتى الـ6، وكانت المسرحية عن هذه الحلقات، لكن إستمتعت بها.) چارلس روس كان ممثل جيداً. لكن للأسف هناك عرضان باقيان في مسرح المدينة، وهذان اليوم! في شاهدوه، قبل ما ينتهي.

MTV Arabiya

MTV Arabija Do la novaĵo eliras, estos MTV por la Araba mondo (laŭ AME Info kaj Reuters .) Mi ne zorgas pri la muziko, sed mi esperas ke estos programeto pri la Araba ĵazo kaj roko. Nu, mi volas vidi la sociorespondeca parto de MTV , vi eble konas, la parto pri la diskriminacio, malriĉeco, seksosaneco kaj politiko. Ni verŝajne havas bezonon de maltimaj parolantoj por diskuti tiuj ĉi aferoj kun la junuloj.

MTV Arabiya So the news is finally out, there shall be an MTV dedicated to the Arab-speaking population in this world (or so say AME Info and Reuters). I'm not too worried about the music, although I do hope they have a little show for something like Arabic jazz and rock. What I'm looking forward to seeing is the social responsibility part of MTV, you know their little shorts that talk about discrimination, poverty, sexual health and politics. We need more daring speakers to talk about these issues to the youth.

MTV العربية إذن الخبر قد ظهر، سيكون هناك قناة إمتيڤي مخصصة لمتحدثي اللغة العربية في هذا العالم (أو هذا ما يقال في أيْ إم إي إنفو ورويترز.( أنا لست قلق حول موضوع الموسيقا، لكن آمل أن يكون لديهم برنامج متخصص بالجاز العربي أو الروك العربي. المهم، أنا متشوق لأرا جزء المسؤولية الإجتماعية للقناة، الجزء المهتم بمواضيع التميِيز، الفقر، الصحّة الجنسية والسياسة. نحن نريد المزيد من المتحدثين المتحديين ليتحدثوا عن هذه المواضيع.

Family Day

Familiotago Mi havis rerenkontiĝo kun iuj da miaj amikoj. Ni decidis iri al la Mamzar ĝardeno, ni ne konis ke estas Familiotago. Estas nia malbonŝanco, ĉu ne estu Familiotago je lundo? Nu, mi alvenis tien sole. Du da amikinoj eniris jame. Mi vidis la tabulo diranta "Familiotago" kaj ĝi ĉagrenis min, ĉar mi konas kion okazos nune. La enirbilet-vendisto refuzis vendi la enirbileton. Mi diris ke mi havas "uloj" en la ĝardeno, kaj demandis se mi devus telefoni ilin por veni enireje por peti permeson por mia eniro? Li diris, faru tion. Mi faris, sed finfine, ni decidis eliri kaj iri al Sahara Centro. Estas du aliaj amikiĉoj kiuj volis veni al ĝardeno, sed estus malŝparo de tempo peti permeson por ilia eniro. Nu, mia sperto estis boneta, ne vere malbonega. Tamen, du iuj ĉagrenis min: Kial permesis ili miajn du amikinojn eniri la ĝardeno, kiam ili verŝajne ne estas parto de familiaro? Kial diskriminacigis ili la fraŭloj? (Mi havus pli etan problemon kun la ideo de Virinotago, ol la ideo de Familiotago.)

Family Day I had a mini-reunion yesterday with some friends. We had decided to head for the Mamzar Park, little did we know that it was Family Day. Just our luck, wasn't Family Day supposed to be on Mondays? Well, I got there alone. Two of my friends (who happened to be females) had already gotten in. I noticed the board saying, "Family Day" and it bugged me, because I knew what was coming. The admissions man refused to sell me an entry ticket. I told him that I've got "people" in the park, and asked if I needed them to come and get me in since they already got in earlier. He said that was an alright idea. I did, but in the end, we decided we'd just leave and go to Sahara Center. There were two more guys who were heading there, and it would've just been a waste of time trying to get them in too. Now my little experience was alright, it wasn't all that horrible. There were two things that bugged me: Why did they let my two friends in, when they clearly were not in a family group? Why do they discriminate against bachelors? (I'd have less of a problem with the idea of Ladies Day than I am having with Family Day.)

اليوم العائلي كان عندي الأمس التقاء مع بعض أصدقائي. قررنا أن نذهب لحديقة الممزر، لكن لم ندري أنّه كان يوم عائلي. كان هذا حظنا، أليس اليوم العائلي يوم الأثنين؟ المهم، وصلت البوابة لوحدي. إثنين من أصدقائي (الذين هم أناث) قد دخلوا. لاحظت الإعلان الذي أعلن أنّه اليوم العائلي، وقد سبب لي توتّر لأنّي عرفت ماذا سيحدث. بائع تذاكر الدخول رفض يبايعني تذكرة الدخول. قلتله، "عندي ناس في الحديقة، هل أتصل بهم ليدخلوني؟ لأنّهم دخلوا قبل ما أوصل." رضى بالفكرة. فإتصلت بهما، لكن في النهاية ذهبنا إلى مركز صحارى. كان هناك شخصان آتين للحديقة ليلتقيا معنا، ولو فعلاً دخلت الحديقة لكان خسارة وقت نحاول ندخّلهما أيضاً. الحين تجربتي كانت عاديّة، لم تكن لدرجة الفظاعة. لكن شيئان وتّرا بي: لماذا أدخلوا صديقتَيّ، حين كان واضح أنّهم ليسوا من ظمن مجموعة عائلية؟ لماذا يميّزون ضد العزّاب؟ (لن تكون التوتّر لي بنفس الدرجة لو كان اليوم النسائي(

The Dubayyan

La Dubajjano Do mi revenis, kun nova blogo. Mi decidis ĉesi mian Araban/Esperantan blogon, Freneza Arabulo, kaj ekblogi denove en nova blogo, la Dubajjano. Al tiuj de vi kiuj legas mian alian blogon, Falsaf, ne zorgu, mi ne ĉesos ĝin. Antaŭ ol iu ajn, mi devas klarigi elkie la vorto "Dubajjan'" estas. El "Dubajo" sed mi aldoni la sufikson "an" kiu donas la vorton ececo. Do jep, mi skribos pri miaj observaĵoj ĉirkaŭ la Dubajjano en iuj tie ĉi. Nune, kiam mi tion deklaris, atendu blogskribojn poste.

The Dubayyan So I'm back, with an all new blog. I decided to retire my Arabic/Esperanto bilingual blog, Freneza Arabulo, and start up a new blog, The Dubayyan. To those of you who do read my other blog, Falsaf, not to worry, it will not be retired. Before anything, I should probably explain where the word "Dubayyan" came from. It falls straight out of Dubai, but I added the suffix -an that gives it a more abstract feel. So yep, I shall be writing more about my observations at what makes things around here have that quality of Dubayyan. Now that I've said that, expect a blog post every once in a while.

الدبيّان إذن، قد رجعت بمدونة جديدة كليّاً. قد قررت أن أعتزل مدونتي القديمة التي كنت أكتب بلغتي العربية والإسبرانتو وببدأ مدونة جديدة، الدبيّان. لهؤلاء الذين يقرأون فعلاً مدونتي الأخرى، فلسف، لا تخشوا، لن أعتزلها. قبل أيشيء، يجب علي أن أشرح لكم من أين أتت كلمة "دبيّان". قد جائت من دبيّ، لكن زدت عليها -ان التي تعطيها صفة تجريدية نوعاًما. فسأكت المزيد مما أراه هنا وما يجعل الأمور هنا يكون لها صفة الدبيّان. الآن حين قلت هذا، توقعوا تدوين هنا في الحين والآخر.
